Help For Your Kid's Stinky Feet

Stinky feet can be a problem for some kids as early as infancy. Initially most moms don't consider it to be that big of a deal. After all, other parts of an infant have a reputation for being much more stinky than the baby's feet!

However, as your child grows older, the stinky feet problem only gets worse. By the time your child enters school those stinky feet become the source of teasing and ridicule resulting in embarrassment and humiliation.

The smell of stinky feet is offensive to almost everyone. Kids pick up on the reactions of others, and become self-conscious about their stinky feet. For many kids, all the hygiene in the world will not make that funky stinky feet odor go away.

They wash their feet daily, sometimes several times a day, before and after school. They wear clean absorbent socks and rotate their shoes to let their shoes air out between each wearing, but NOTHING seems to work. They dread gym class. They dread sleepovers. They dread sitting around watching TV. They dread riding home in the car with others after playing sports.

They dread being made fun of.

They would do anything to not have stinky feet.

So what are some of the methods people have suggested to help get rid of that stinky feet odor?

  • Wash your feet several times a day. This is NOT practical for anyone who is not home all day.
  • Change your socks and even your shoes during the day. This is not practical, either.
  • Soak your feet in tea. I would think this would stain your skin, and I can't imagine a kid sitting around soaking his or her feet every night. Not practical.
  • Soak your feet in vodka! Some would say that would be a waste of vodka while others would balk of the whole idea.
  • Soak your feet in a weak bleach solution. That CANNOT be safe!
  • Soak your feet in any number of home brewed concocted solutions.
  • Buy some expensive product from someone's website. Buy more of it next month if it works.

As you can see, the above methods are impractical at best and downright dangerous at worst. They can be and often are very pricey.

Not only that, there is no guarantee they will even work!

But there is hope!

Get Rid Of Stinky Feet

When people go online looking for ways to get rid of stinky feet, I'm going to stick my neck out and assume they are not looking to get rid of the feet, they just want to get rid of the stinky.

Maybe they (or you!) have tried sprays and powders. Or soaking feet in everything from tea to bleach. And of course they (or you) put on clean socks over clean feet and all that.

The problem is the odor free feet that go into the shoes in the morning morph into stinky feet by evening! Or maybe even earlier!

What everybody is searching for when they search for a way to get rid of stinky feet is a way to have the same odor free feet come out of the shoes at night that went into the shoes in the morning!

If you are ready to get rid of stinky feet once and for all, come on over to

Best Remedy For Stinky Feet

Nearly all internet searches for the Best Remedy For Stinky Feet will lead you to web pages that tell you to wash your feet, soak your feet in some concoction, dry your feet, change your socks, change your shoes, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum.

It occurred to me that after doing all that, you put clean dry odor-free feet into clean dry odor-free socks into clean dry odor-free shoes.

Of course your feet don't stink!

The stinky feet problem becomes apparent later when you take your shoes off. Your shoes are no longer clean, dry and odor free, your socks are no longer clean, dry or odor free, and your feet are no longer clean, dry or odor free.

Everything stinks!

Your ultimate goal is to stop stinky feet so that when you take your shoes and socks off, they are still odor free.

The problem is the foot washing ritual is necessary but not sufficient. If it were sufficient your feet would still be odor free when you take your shoes off. That you are reading this post tells me that either for you or for someone you know, that is not the case.

A Better Way To Get Rid Of Foot Odor

I recently read on a web page I won't mention (to save them the embarrassment) that a good way to keep your feet from stinking is to wash them several times a day.

Are you kidding me?

Several times a day?!?!?!?!

Can you see a school kid washing his or her feet in the bathroom sink at school between classes or at lunch?

Or how about an office worker in the restroom at work?

Or a letter carrier out on the street? "Excuse me ma'am here is your package and would you mind if I washed my stinky feet in your bathroom sink?"

Or how about a construction worker?

Get real. This is even more impractical than sitting around with your feet in a bucket of ice tea!!

Stinky Feet Make Stinky Shoes

No Stinky Shoes Here! If you have done much searching for remedies to get rid of stinky feet, you no doubt have come across advice to do things like wash your feet, change your socks, don't wear the same shoes every day, etc. But that advice continues to be given and people continue to have the stinky feet problem. The advice is necessary but not sufficient.

I think everyone who can read this has already figured out that right after you wash your feet they don't stink. At least for a while.

And the simple act of merely putting on clean socks is not going to cause problems because socks are not the problem. Socks do indeed get mighty stinky but socks do not cause stinky feet.

However it seems that putting your clean feet into still stinky shoes makes your feet get stinkier even faster. Not only that, but the shoes go from stinky to stinkier as well.

Help For A Kid's Stinky Feet

I was visiting a website where a mom was asking for help in dealing with her child's foot odor problem. Another mom responded that she didn't think stinky feet really were a problem with kids - that no one cared cuz the kid was so cute and kids are always dirty anyway, yada, yada, yada.

That mom may not care that her kid's feet stink, but it's a safe bet that all of his friends will, if they don't already. He won't develop a foot odor complex if he is taught how to prevent stinky feet as part of his daily hygiene routine but he just might get one after all of his friends make fun of him!

A doctor also chimed in with the usual wash the feet, wash the socks, change the shoes, and all that. That is not bad advice, but it is not enough advice. Most people do that, anyway and still have stinky feet.

Remedy For Stinky Feet

On another website, parents were writing in that their very young children (toddlers!) had very stinky feet, and they wanted to know what to do about it.

There were some really scary suggestions, let me tell ya.

Making a toddler sit still and soak their feet in some concoction made of tea or vodka (!) or bleach ( ! ! ) or anything else ain't gonna happen. And it shouldn't happen.

Kids should not have stinky feet, but some of them do, and sometimes from a very early age. Because other kids can be so very cruel, it is imperative that parents find a way to help their kids overcome this foot odor problem.

Some adults were writing in with some stories as well, such as mandatory work shoes causing odor, or being embarrassed to remove shoes in front of friends or family, or visiting homes where it is expected that you remove your shoes.

All of that could get very embarrassing and maybe even curtail your social life.

It doesn't have to be this way. Visit Stop Stinky Feet for a safe, effective, and inexpensive way to end your foot odor problem for good!

About Foot Odor

About Foot Odor

Body odor that affects people's feet is known as foot odor or less formally as stinky feet. Most people, at least in Western cultures , consider it to be, shall we say tactfully, an unpleasant smell.

Foot odor happens when your feet are enclosed in shoes and/or socks, without adequate air ventilation. The longer your feet are enclosed, the stinkier they get.

Feet have lots of sweat glands and when feet get warm, they naturally sweat to try to cool off.

Lots of sweat glands means lots of sweat.

Lots of sweat glands means there are lots of places for naturally occurring bacteria to thrive in a warm, moist environment.

The bacteria feed on dead skin as well as amino acids in the sweat. The resulting byproducts have that obnoxious stench that no one likes.

Aside from washing your stinky feet, what can you do to eliminate foot odor?

This is just basically an update from my last post which was (ack!) 2 months ago! But how much new stuff can you say about foot odor, anyway?

Using this method, my formerly new shoes still have not totally lost that new shoe smell. It is less noticeable, but if you were to stick your nose into my shoe, that is the ONLY thing you would smell.

There is absolutely NO hint of that awful "foot odor."

Visit Stop Stinky Feet for more info on how I accomplish this.

I purchased some new athletic shoes about a week ago, and have worn them almost every day since then. We all know it does not take very long for athletic shoes to take on that awful stinky-feet odor.

HOWEVER, using my method, I can honestly say to you that my new shoes still smell like

I don't have Stinky Feet! NEW SHOES! I don't have Stinky Feet!

Friday, October 26, 2007

I live in San Diego County, usually a wonderful part of southern California. This week, however, has provided far too many people with a sneak preview of Hell.

For the second time in almost exactly 4 years, wild fires have ravaged indiscriminately through back country brush and posh upscale mansions. As I write this, even though the news has died down somewhat because the wind and the fires have died down somewhat, personal friends still do not know if fire fighters will be able to save their home.

Around half a million people were evacuated from their homes in the path of the fires. About 10,000 of them wound up at Qualcomm Stadium. I heard they have spent the week without showers!

Now I can understand why the people who run the stadium did not open up the Chargers' locker room, or the visiting team locker room, to the general public. This is football season, there is a home game on Sunday, and it just would not do to have a bunch of funky evacuees in there. Said funky evacuees were not even allowed on the playing field, for crying out loud.

HOWEVER, there have to be other shower facilities in there. There is no way the Chargers and the Padres shared showers! As the Padres do not play in Qualcomm anymore, why couldn't those showers be opened up to people? I mean it's bad enough to have escaped with only the clothes on your back, but after you have worn them - and only them - for several days in 90+ degree heat, you need a shower!

You knew this was coming: If these people only knew of my method for preventing stinky feet, that would have been one less thing they would have had to worry about. And that's the truth.
