About Foot Odor

About Foot Odor

Body odor that affects people's feet is known as foot odor or less formally as stinky feet. Most people, at least in Western cultures , consider it to be, shall we say tactfully, an unpleasant smell.

Foot odor happens when your feet are enclosed in shoes and/or socks, without adequate air ventilation. The longer your feet are enclosed, the stinkier they get.

Feet have lots of sweat glands and when feet get warm, they naturally sweat to try to cool off.

Lots of sweat glands means lots of sweat.

Lots of sweat glands means there are lots of places for naturally occurring bacteria to thrive in a warm, moist environment.

The bacteria feed on dead skin as well as amino acids in the sweat. The resulting byproducts have that obnoxious stench that no one likes.

Aside from washing your stinky feet, what can you do to eliminate foot odor?
